This is a brief description of the service ...

bulletThe Fertilization in Vitro consists of reproducing the process of fertilization that is produced in a natural way, but this time in the laboratory, in which we need to have in the laboratory the eggs and the sperms. Carrying out a cycle of stimulation of the ovaries with the purpose to obtain numerous eggs and to guarantee a good embryonic transfer and even to be able to freeze surplus embryos, to transfer in other subsequent cycles if did not remain pregnant in the first one, or if the patients want to keep it for a second pregnancy.
bulletThe retrieval procedure to obtain the eggs is performed transvaginally using a hollow needle guided by the ultrasound image (this is completely comfortable under adequate sedation and local anesthesia). Eggs are gently removed from the ovaries using the needle. This is called "follicular aspiration." Its timing is crucial because the egg will not develop properly if it is collected too early; if too late, the egg also may develop poorly or may have already been released from the ovary and lost.
bulletThere are two techniques: the conventional IVF and the Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which is a procedure where a single sperm is selected and delivered directly into a woman's egg. ICSI is an effective option for men with low sperm count or sperm that cannot reach the egg successfully.
